How It All Started

Cornerstone Christian school started in 1993 with one teacher, one classroom, five first grade students and a team of dedicated parents. Originally at Grace Community Covenant Church in Lacey, WA, the school eventually outgrew this space and moved to Black Lake Bible Camp for a few years. While this was a beautiful setting, God had other plans for our wonderful little school; growth!

In 2018, the school moved to Olympia Lacey Church of God in Lacey. And in 2021 that growth took off! Our student body grew very quickly so Cornerstone Middle School moved to Westwood Baptist Church with more space and classrooms and the inaugural class of Cornerstone High School began with eight 9th graders.

As the demand for Christ-Centered and academically sound education skyrockets, it’s imperative CCS find a home that will allow for more classes and activity space. This is why the Cornerstone Foundation of Washington exists—to secure that permanent home so generations to come will have a safe and fun atmosphere, with teachers and staff who love Jesus and provide high-quality, heart-based, Christ-centered education.
